Inside Our Supply Chain: How J-Origin Sources, Certifies and Ships Chinese Food
Share
J-Origin Foods runs a six-step supply chain: we match your product brief to a verified producer in China, adapt the recipe to your market, confirm with samples, produce under food-safety certification (Halal, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000), apply market-specific labeling, then consolidate multiple categories into a single FCL or LCL shipment with full export documentation. We are a sourcing partner, not a factory — which is precisely why we can pick the right producer for each product instead of pushing whatever one plant happens to make.
The problem with sourcing Chinese food directly
- One factory, one category. A dumpling plant cannot make your soup base; a sauce plant cannot make your noodles. A full range means juggling many suppliers.
- Minimums are brutal. Factories often quote full-container volumes before they will engage — impossible for a market test.
- Compliance lands on you. Halal, ISO 22000, allergen and country-of-origin rules differ by market, and most plants will not manage the export package.
- Freight multiplies. Five suppliers means five shipments, five sets of documents, five points of failure.
Step 1: Match the brief to the right producer
You tell us the product, target market and volume. We select from a verified producer network across China, chosen by category specialism rather than convenience. Our Nanjing team handles supplier vetting and on-the-ground quality control.
Step 2: Adapt the recipe to your market
Authentic does not mean unchanged. We adjust spice and salt levels, remove pork and alcohol for Halal markets, and offer gluten-free reformulation. A mala base that works in Chengdu is rarely the mala base that sells in Jakarta or Dubai.
Step 3: Confirm with samples
Nothing goes to production before you taste it. One sample unit is free; you cover the air freight. A full mixed-SKU carton can be arranged and is charged. Format is locked here too: concentrated liquid, dry powder, frozen paste, retort pouch or bulk.
Step 4: Produce under certification
Production runs at the certified producer. Documentation is issued per SKU and per destination — Halal (JAKIM/MUI-recognized), ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, and third-party lab reports where required. We do not apply blanket certification claims across the whole catalogue, because they would not be true.
Step 5: Label for the destination, not for China
Multilingual labels, ingredient and allergen declarations, country-of-origin marking: Arabic/English for the Gulf, local-language Halal marks for Southeast Asia, FSANZ-compliant labels for Australia, EU and US declarations where relevant. On OEM and private-label runs, only your brand appears — J-Origin stays off the pack.
Step 6: Consolidate and ship
Hot pot base, dim sum, sauces and noodles from different producers are consolidated into one shipment, FCL or LCL, with a single set of export documents. Standard lead time is 15-30 days after sample approval. Ambient formats (12-24 month shelf life) are offered where cold chain would be costly; frozen goods ship IQF.
Why this structure matters to you
- Low MOQ: from 500 kg per variant — test a market without a container commitment.
- One counterparty: one contract, one shipment, one set of documents, across ten product categories.
- The right producer per product — not one factory's limited range.
- Compliance handled before your customs officer sees it, not after.
